Meet Margo

// Notes from the wings
  • 166 cm, slim, notably still in company
  • Long dark brown hair, undramatic and straight, brown eyes
  • Early thirties, polished English, comfortable with a pause
  • Contemporary art, daily piano practice, balcony gardening
  • Knightsbridge home, returns on the 21st

Patience is the price of admission with Margo, and it is a fair enough price. She is 166 cm and slim, and she keeps her dark brown hair long, straight and entirely undramatic. The brown eyes sit steady above a half smile that tends to arrive late in a conversation, once she has decided something about you. Early thirties. She dresses in things that hang well and announce nothing: a velvet slip, a jacket cut close at the waist, short red nails, a clutch that has clearly been somewhere.

Refinement is the surface and calm is what lies underneath it. She does not fill silences and does not need reassuring, which unsettles people for roughly ten minutes and then becomes the best thing about the evening. Her English is polished. Contemporary art is where the real enthusiasm lives, and she is worth listening to on it. Piano is the discipline she has kept up since childhood. Gardening happens on a Knightsbridge balcony with a great deal more ambition than square footage.

An evening with her near Euston starts at the Wellcome Collection, the free museum on the Euston Road where medicine, art and a good deal of oddity share the same few floors. She likes the reading room upstairs, and she likes that nobody there hurries anybody out. Dinner follows somewhere calm, and she is at her best in the final hour, once the room has emptied and the conversation has slowed down to her preferred speed.

The board has her back on Monday the 21st, and evenings around Euston reopen from that date. Dates beyond her return can be pencilled in now through booking, and they will be held properly rather than provisionally.

Her home stage is Knightsbridge, and she travels from there to the venues this house covers. Her full listing sits with the rest of the company on the companions page.

What an evening costs

She returns on Monday the 21st and the desk is pencilling in the nights after it now. An overnight sits at £1,800, and the longer bookings she prefers are easiest to arrange with a few days of warning.

Each length on the ladder, the travel rule and the terms for a change of plan are set out line by line on the rates page, and the wording to send sits on the booking page.

04 Scene

An evening with Margo

She arrives on the hour and never early, and the first twenty minutes are unhurried enough to feel like a decision rather than a routine. The museum suits her because it asks for attention rather than conversation. She will stand in front of a single case for a very long time and then say something about it that you will find yourself repeating a week later.

Dinner is small and late. She eats little, drinks one glass of something dry, and grows funnier as the room empties around her. The long bookings are the ones she genuinely prefers, because the last hour is where she actually unwinds, and nothing about her was designed to be rushed through inside sixty minutes.

// Asked backstage

Margo, in her words

I know, and it is not a performance. I simply do not talk while I am still deciding what I think about something, or someone.

Standards, badly, with the lid half down so the neighbours find it in themselves to forgive me. Forty minutes most days.

Quiet, which was entirely the point of it. I come back better company than I left, and the plants generally take a different view.

Margo, in the book

Margo is away from the board until 21 September 2026. Resting, long evenings reopen when she is back Ask us who is carrying a pass tonight and we will name three who suit the same evening.

// Nothing pinned here yet

No moderated note has been left for Margo on this site so far. We publish first names, the month and the words themselves, we never invent a line, and we never print anything a companion would rather keep private. When guests do write in, their notes appear here exactly as they arrived.
