Meet Rosa

// Notes from the wings
  • 160 cm, curvy, comfortable in her own skin
  • Chestnut brown hair that curls, warm brown eyes
  • Twenty five, fluent English, entirely unhurried
  • Baking on Sundays, galleries midweek, records constantly
  • Marylebone home, Sunday to Thursday only

Vinyl first, dinner afterwards, and she will not be moved on the order of those two things. Rosa is 160 cm and curvy, with chestnut brown hair that curls properly rather than obediently, and brown eyes that crinkle whenever something amuses her, which happens a great deal. Twenty five. She dresses comfortably and well: a knitted dress, a denim jacket that has been repaired at least twice, gold hoops, and boots chosen because she intends to be on her feet for a while.

Earthy is the word people land on, and easygoing is what makes an afternoon with her run long. Nothing has to be impressive. She is perfectly content in a record shop basement for an hour and equally content at a table with white cloths, and she brings the same unhurried good humour to either. Her English is fluent and warm. Baking is the Sunday habit, galleries are the weekday one, and records are the thing she spends far too much money on without any intention of stopping.

Her afternoon in this corner of town starts on Denmark Street, the short run of guitar shops and record dealers behind Tottenham Court Road that somehow survived everything built around it. She flicks through the racks properly, talks to whoever is behind the counter, and will buy something she cannot play until she gets home. Dinner follows nearby once the shops shut, and by then she has usually worked out exactly where it should be.

Marylebone is home, two stops west of Tottenham Court Road. She works Sunday to Thursday only, so tell booking which of those days suits and the afternoon can start whenever you like.

Her home stage is Marylebone, and she travels from there to the venues this house covers. Her full listing sits with the rest of the company on the companions page.

What an evening costs

She works Sunday through Thursday, and an afternoon start that rolls into dinner is the shape she likes best. Three hours at £700 covers the shops, the walk and the table afterwards. Confirm the hotel and the room, and planning the afternoon is hers.

Each length on the ladder, the travel rule and the terms for a change of plan are set out line by line on the rates page, and the wording to send sits on the booking page.

04 Scene

An evening with Rosa

Four in the afternoon is her favourite start, because the shops are still open and the evening has not decided anything yet. She goes through the racks in order, holds things up without explaining why, and will put something in your hands that you would never have picked up on your own. It usually turns out she was right about it.

Dinner happens when the shutters come down, somewhere close and unfussy where the plates are meant for sharing. She eats properly, asks about your family, and tells you about hers. If you have a train or an early start she will say goodnight without making a thing of it, and if you have neither, the evening simply keeps going at the same easy pace.

// Asked backstage

Rosa, in her words

Soul records, mostly, and anything with a sleeve worth framing. I have bought the same album three times because I liked the cover more.

Because I bake on Saturdays and the kitchen is a disaster by Sunday morning. Weekends belong to the people I am related to.

No. I am going to make you listen to one thing all the way through, which is much harder and rather more rewarding.

Rosa, in the book

Rosa is on call today. Sunday to Thursday, an afternoon start that runs on Message the desk and we will confirm the hour before anything is held.

// Nothing pinned here yet

No moderated note has been left for Rosa on this site so far. We publish first names, the month and the words themselves, we never invent a line, and we never print anything a companion would rather keep private. When guests do write in, their notes appear here exactly as they arrived.
